The Biblical Basis for ACT
By Dr. Larry Moyer

ACT. One gospel. One person. One day. ACT focuses on getting believers trained and prepared to act on the day that God gives them an opportunity to share the gospel with another person.

In Acts 5:42, we are told, “And daily in the temple, and in every house, they did not cease teaching and preaching Jesus as the Christ.”

Notice they had ONE GOSPEL. Acts 5:42 says, “They did not cease teaching and preaching Jesus as the Christ.” Their message surrounded the message that defines the gospel – Christ died for our sins and rose from the dead (1 Corinthians 15:3-5).  The apostles testify, “The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom you murdered by hanging on a tree” (Acts 5:30).

ONE PERSON
. Acts 5:42 says, “Daily in the temple, and in every house.” The apostles had specific people in mind. They were the people who frequented the temple and lived in the surrounding homes. Your person might be a neighbor, a friend at work, a relative, a college roommate, the grocery store clerk or the person you work alongside of every day.

ONE DAY
. Acts 5:42 says, “And daily in the temple and in every house.” The people chose a day and that day was their day. When Sunday came, it was Sunday. When Monday came, it was Monday. So why emphasize one day? Because one day is better than no day. If believers would act one day, it could be the beginning of looking at every day as an outreach to the lost.

ACT
. One gospel. One person. One day. Our prayer is that this free online training helps more and more people share the gospel in more and more places everyday. But, unless we start with someone, we’ll end up with no one. It begins with you... get ready to act.
