Many things encourage me—kind words from my spouse, reading a good book, seeing my children grow, or sometimes even eating a bowl of grapes (yes, I love fruit).
But there is one thing that brings more encouragement than anything else—the gospel of Jesus Christ. Nothing else compares!
Here’s just a small taste of why to encourage your day:
Romans 5:8 — “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
We’ve done nothing to earn God’s love. He loved and died for us “while we were still sinners.”
I John 4:19 — “We love Him because He first loved us.”
Our love for Him is born out of His love for us. On our own, we never would have loved Him.
Romans 6:23 — “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
God’s gift of life is free. We don’t earn it (even if we tried, we couldn’t); it’s His gift to us.
Ephesians 2:1 — “And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins.”
Once we were spiritually dead on account of our sins, but we’ve been made alive!
2 Corinthians 8:9 — “For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich.”
Christ willingly became poor for me and for you! And this makes us rich!
Romans 8:1 —“There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.”
As believers, we no longer experience condemnation!
Romans 8:32 — “He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?”
God not only secured our eternal salvation, he helps us in the here and now.
