Hearing of the passing of Billy Graham is a sobering experience for me personally. From the day I trusted Christ on the dairy farm in Pennsylvania as a teenager, the one thing I wanted to do was be an evangelist.

I had no idea how famous Billy Graham was, but one day I saw him on TV telling thousands of people how to get to heaven. I said to myself, “That’s is what I want to spend my life doing – telling people how to get to heaven.”

I went to anything I could such as his school in evangelism connected with his crusades to his conference for itinerant evangelists in Amsterdam 86 to learn from his giftedness. His legacy will always be that as such a humble servant of God he always pointed people to Jesus not to Billy Graham.

He was known for his comment, “Why did God choose to use me?”

As a tribute to the way God used him, why not use today to reach out to an unbeliever with the Good News of Christ.

What better tribute could there be to such a godly servant who once said, “I would not walk across the street to tell anyone about religion, but I will go across the world to tell them about Christ.”
