Carol Nelson, Client Services Director at Pregnancy Resource Center of Cambridge, shares the following:
Our Pregnancy Resource Center has had some nice number increases in client services! We had a 19% increase in total client visits from 2014 to 2015. We had a similar increase (18%) in pregnancy tests. But our biggest growth area for service was ultrasounds. That number increased by 82% from 2014 to 2015! As a result, we were able to help more women and men choose life for their child!
Another statistic that grew tremendously was how many times advocates had a spiritual discussion with clients. That number increased by 77% from 2014 to 2015. However, we had smaller growth in the actual sharing of the Gospel (14%). The PRC of Cambridge feels sharing the Gospel of Christ is equally as important as saving the lives of unborn children. So in December the entire staff of the PRC, along with several volunteers and board members, attended a Save the Mother, Save her Child evangelism training put on by EvanTell. It was our desire to be more equipped and confident in sharing the gospel with our clients. This was an excellent training that was geared specifically for Pregnancy Resource Centers, teaching a method of sharing the core gospel message with interdenominational techniques. Anyone can do this!
We came away with many practical tips and ideas for starting spiritual conversations, specific scriptures for explaining the gospel message, and learned a way to share our own testimony quickly and simply. Since this training our advocates have shared the gospel with clients, suggesting they begin to attend a local church. Within a week two clients were attending church and both shared with us that they had trusted in Christ to be their Savior! In the three months since training we have increased the sharing of the gospel by 60% over the prior three-month period!
Pray that many more of our clients will place their faith and trust in Christ and that we will be bold in proclaiming the Gospel clearly. As it says in Colossians 4:5, "Pray that I may proclaim it clearly, as I should. Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone."
