We recently started a “Back to School Prayer Challenge” using the acronym S.C.H.O.O.L. Today, let’s look at the letter “H”— hope.

Begin by reading the following passage:

“But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear” (1 Pet. 3:15).

Continue by praying for students/teachers to be prepared to share the hope of the gospel:

  • Pray for them to have a clear understanding of the gospel so they can readily give a reason for their hope.
  • Pray for them to have eyes to see people around them who need hope.
  • Pray for them to have compassion and empathy for those around them, whether at school or in the community.

Conclude with any other related requests that come to mind.
