Beyond Childcare: Making Disciples for the Next Generation

For Eduardo Núñez, Executive Coordinator for EvanTell’s Hispanic Ministry in the United States, children’s ministry is far more than childcare. We sat down with Eduardo to capture his views on EvanTell’s Children Ministry.

Since Eduardo joined EvanTell’s team in January 2026, through church training events and ministry gatherings across North Texas, he has equipped Spanish-speaking pastors, children’s ministry leaders, Sunday School teachers, and volunteers to share the gospel with clarity and confidence.

Among EvanTell’s seminars, how to Lead a Child to Christ has become especially meaningful to Núñez, particularly when paired with the children’s evangelism tool CrossTalk. In each training, volunteers often arrive seeing their role as caring for children while parents attend worship. By the end, many recognize a deeper calling: they are helping make disciples.

That shift in perspective is central to the seminar’s impact. Participants begin to see the eternal value of reaching children with the gospel, understanding that the children in today’s classrooms may become tomorrow’s pastors, missionaries, evangelists, church leaders, and faithful followers of Christ. Children’s evangelism is not only ministry for the present; it is an investment in the future of the church.

The training also gives volunteers practical confidence. Many who serve children love them deeply but have never been taught how to explain the gospel in a way that is both biblically accurate and understandable for a child. Through Leading a Child to Chris, they learn a simple, clear, and reproducible method that avoids confusion and emotional pressure while guiding children toward a genuine understanding of salvation.

Since Núñez joined EvanTell, he has seen the difference this training makes. Participants leave with renewed appreciation for children’s ministry and a stronger desire to share the gospel intentionally with every child they serve. Churches, in turn, are placing greater emphasis on presenting the gospel clearly during Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, outreach events, camps, and other children’s activities.

The impact extends beyond the classroom. Many churches are also becoming more intentional about equipping parents, recognizing that the home remains the primary place where children are discipled. As hundreds of pastors, leaders, teachers, and volunteers have been trained, the multiplication continues: each equipped volunteer returns to a church ready to share the gospel faithfully week after week.

For Núñez, what stands out most is EvanTell’s commitment to biblical faithfulness. “The goal is not merely to increase decisions for Christ, but to help children clearly understand the gospel so they can place their faith in Jesus with genuine understanding.”

In that sense, Leading a Child to Christ is more than another seminar. It is a reminder that one of the church’s greatest opportunities is to faithfully proclaim the gospel to children. By equipping those who serve them, EvanTell is helping invest in the next generation of believers who may one day lead churches, serve as missionaries, raise Christian families, and continue proclaiming the gospel long after today’s leaders are gone.
